About VMS Consult

VMS Consult was founded in 2011 by Sammy De Caluwé, building on an industrial automation career that started in 2003.

Starting from hands-on PLC engineering and technical implementation, this experience has evolved through increasingly complex automation projects into broader engineering, system integration and technical project responsibilities.

Over the years, VMS Consult has contributed to automation projects in demanding production environments, including automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical production and industrial manufacturing.

This combination of long-term technical experience and exposure to different industries provides a practical understanding of both automation technology and the requirements of real production environments.

A strong automation solution is not only about making a system work. It should be structured, reliable and maintainable, while fitting the standards and requirements of the production environment.

VMS Consult approaches engineering with a practical mindset, combining technical analysis with hands-on experience to develop solutions that remain understandable and manageable throughout their lifecycle.

Standardization and consistency are important parts of this approach. Existing standards are respected where available, while new solutions are developed with reuse, scalability and future modifications in mind.

VMS Consult operates primarily at system and project level, while maintaining the hands-on technical expertise to work down into the automation system when required. This allows technical decisions, engineering reviews and troubleshooting to be supported by a thorough understanding of the underlying technology.

As an independent engineering company, VMS Consult can integrate flexibly into existing customer, engineering and project teams.

This independent position makes it possible to focus on the technical needs of the project while working closely with customers, system integrators, suppliers and other engineering partners.

Assignments can range from focused project support to long-term involvement, depending on the scope and requirements of the project.

Whether contributing as an automation engineer, project engineer or technical lead, the objective remains the same: providing reliable technical support and taking responsibility where it adds value.
